Michiana Social Justice Coalition to host their annual People’s Inauguration

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The Michiana Social Justice Coalition will be hosting their annual People’s Inauguration on Zoom on Sunday, January 24 from 3-5 P.M.

This year, the organization invites interested community members to “imagine a collective future as a restorative community.”

Restorative justice and how it responds to harm done to others is a major theme that will be spoken at the event.

Dr. Darryl Heller, Director of the IU South Bend Civil Rights Heritage Center and professor in the Women and Gender Studies department, will open the event.

The keynote speaker for the People’s Inauguration is Dalila Huerta, a local educator and restorative justice circle keeper and trainer.

Breakout sessions are set to be led by members of the Michiana Social Justice Coalition.

If interested in participating in this event, register at go.iu.edu/pi5.
