Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel to speak on election protection at Lake Michigan College

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. - As part of her visit, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel will speak about election protection and have a Q&A at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, at the Lake Michigan College Mendel Center Hanson Theatre.

The free event is hosted by the League of Women Voters of Berrien and Cass Counties and LMC Votes!, a nonpartisan, student-led organization that encourages students to vote.

It is open to the public and doors open at 5:45 p.m.

“We are excited to hear from Attorney General Nessel about the integrity of the upcoming elections,” said LMC Political Science Faculty Dr. Tiffany Bohm, who advises LMC Votes!. “Michigan is ahead of many states thanks to protections put in place by the Attorney General’s office. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students and our community to learn more about the process.”

As the State’s Chief Law Enforcement Officer, Nessel and her department work to ensure that every vote is counted, and the will of the voters is upheld in every election.
