Michigan City daycare owner charged in child's death

LAPORTE, Ind. -- A Michigan City daycare owner has been charged in the death of a child in her care.

Monday June 9, 5-year-old Amareon Williams was found unresponsive in the back yard of Tricia's Playhouse and Daycare.

The LaPorte County Coroner said a jump rope was tied to a piece of wood on the playground equipment and Williams somehow hanged himself on it.

His cause of death was asphyxiation.

Tricia Calvin is charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless homicide.
