Michigan City man sentenced for possession of child pornography

A Michigan City man was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography.

On Thursday, a federal judge sentenced 40-year-old Linn Johnson to 144 months in prison and 5 years supervised release.

In May 2013, an undercover officer downloaded child pornography shared by Johnson on the internet, according to court documents.

In December 2013, officers served a search warrant on Johnson's residence and seized a computer that contained child pornography.

His sentence was enhanced because he admitted to molesting a 7-year-old child, according to the US Attorney's Office.

The case was investigated by the FBI and Michigan City Police Department.
