Michigan City Police asking for tips in hit and run involving pedestrian

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- Michigan City Police are asking for the public's help in an investigation into a hit and run involving a pedestrian that happened over the weekend.

Early Sunday morning, officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of Franklin Street where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

The first officer on scene located a person lying in the roadway with head trauma. The person was transported to the hospital.

Witnesses reported the pedestrian was crossing Franklin Street when a silver SUV struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.
