Michigan driver killed by Amtrak train

DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- One man is dead, after an Amtrak train ran into his car.

It happened around 9:30 Thursday night, two miles west of Lansing. The train was heading from Chicago, to Port Huron.

Officials say it's unclear exactly what caused the crash. They're not sure if the gates were functioning, or if the driver tried to go around the crossing arms.

The tracks do have both gates and flashing lights.
