Michigan family fights to keep pet deer

GENESEE COUNTY, Mich. -- A Michigan family is fighting to save their pet deer from the state.

Lilly has been living in a home outside Flint for the last five years.

They rescued her moments after she was born.

A neighbor's friend recently filed a complaint and now the Michigan DNR says Lilly has to go but her owners say she has part of the family.

"It would be very, very devastating," said the deer owner.  "I think there are exceptions to the rules.  Sometimes love should be enough."

The family says they have plans to hire a lawyer to fight for their beloved pet.
