Michigan reports 2,032,362 total cases of COVID-19, 30,899 deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 5,716 new cases* of COVID-19, and 152 new deaths**.

*Today's daily case count represents confirmed cases over two days (Thursday & Friday). The average number of new cases is 2,858 per day.

**Deaths announced today includes 110 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. 

The state has had a total of 2,032,362 COVID-19 cases, 30,899 deaths, and 11,283,987 vaccine doses administered***. 

  • Berrien Co.: 30,096 confirmed cases, 464 deaths, 162,798 vaccine doses administered
  • Cass Co.: 9,114 cases, 118 deaths, 36,472 vaccine doses administered
  • St. Joseph Co.:  11,824 cases, 160 deaths, 51,399 vaccine doses administered
  • Van Buren Co.: 15,338 cases, 226 deaths, 87,018 vaccine doses administered

Note: The state of Michigan's website will no longer be updating the cumulative total of recovered COVID-19 cases. As of January 20, 2022, 1,421,905 people have recovered in the state.
