Michigan reports 2,042,013 total cases of COVID-19, 31,271 deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 4,271 new cases* of COVID-19, and 312 new deaths**.

*Today's daily case count represents confirmed cases over two days (Tuesday & Wednesday). The average number of new cases is 2,136 per day.

**Deaths announced today includes 274 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. 

The state has had a total of 2,042,013 COVID-19 cases, 31,271 deaths, and 11,283,987 vaccine doses administered***. 

  • Berrien Co.: 30,212 confirmed cases, 475 deaths, 162,798 vaccine doses administered
  • Cass Co.: 9,149 cases, 122 deaths, 36,472 vaccine doses administered
  • St. Joseph Co.:  11,859 cases, 162 deaths, 51,399 vaccine doses administered
  • Van Buren Co.: 15,418 cases, 231 deaths, 87,018 vaccine doses administered

***Vaccines updated as of February 10, 2021

Note: The state of Michigan's website will no longer be updating the cumulative total of recovered COVID-19 cases. As of January 20, 2022, 1,421,905 people have recovered in the state.
