Michigan reports 2,051,771 total cases of COVID-19, 31,695 deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 5,931 new cases* of COVID-19, and 312 new deaths**.

*Today's daily case count represents confirmed cases over five days (Saturday through Wednesday). The average number of new cases is 1,186 per day.

**Deaths announced today includes 250 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. 

The state has had a total of 2,051,771 COVID-19 cases, 31,695 deaths, and 11,331,964 vaccine doses administered***. 

  • Berrien Co.: 30,255 confirmed cases, 479 deaths, 162,798 vaccine doses administered
  • Cass Co.: 9,163 cases, 122 deaths, 36,472 vaccine doses administered
  • St. Joseph Co.:  11,883 cases, 162 deaths, 51,399 vaccine doses administered
  • Van Buren Co.: 15,449 cases, 232 deaths, 87,018 vaccine doses administered

***Vaccines updated as of February 21, 2021

Note: The state of Michigan's website will no longer be updating the cumulative total of recovered COVID-19 cases. As of January 20, 2022, 1,421,905 people have recovered in the state.
