Michigan reports 2,068,817 total cases of COVID-19, 32,561 deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 1,540 new cases* of COVID-19, and 118 new deaths**.

*Today's daily case count represents confirmed cases over two days (Tuesday & Wednesday). The average number of new cases is 770 per day.

**Deaths announced today includes 107 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. 

The state has had a total of 2,068,817 COVID-19 cases, 32,561 deaths, and 11,433,460 vaccine doses administered***. 

  • Berrien Co.: 30,485 confirmed cases, 502 deaths, 161,272 vaccine doses administered
  • Cass Co.: 9,224 cases, 129 deaths, 38,692 vaccine doses administered
  • St. Joseph Co.:  11,990 cases, 171 deaths, 51,816 vaccine doses administered
  • Van Buren Co.: 15,598 cases, 239 deaths, 84,650 vaccine doses administered

Note: The state of Michigan's website will no longer be updating the cumulative total of recovered COVID-19 cases. As of January 20, 2022, 1,421,905 people have recovered in the state.
