Michigan reports 2,071,587 total cases of COVID-19, 32,611 deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 2,770 new cases* of COVID-19, and 50 new deaths**.

*Today's daily case count represents confirmed cases over two days (Thursday & Friday). The average number of new cases is 1,385 per day. Because of a backlog of previously unreported test results received on March 17, today's new daily confirmed cases include 825 additional cases. 

**Deaths announced today includes 35 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. 

The state has had a total of 2,071,587 COVID-19 cases, 32,611 deaths, and 11,438,138 vaccine doses administered***. 

  • Berrien Co.: 30,508 confirmed cases, 503 deaths, 161,391 vaccine doses administered
  • Cass Co.: 9,227 cases, 129 deaths, 38,706 vaccine doses administered
  • St. Joseph Co.:  11,997 cases, 171 deaths, 51,848 vaccine doses administered
  • Van Buren Co.: 15,605 cases, 239 deaths, 84,712 vaccine doses administered

***Vaccines updated as of March 17, 2021

Note: The state of Michigan's website will no longer be updating the cumulative total of recovered COVID-19 cases. As of January 20, 2022, 1,421,905 people have recovered in the state.
