Michigan reports 2,076,143 total cases of COVID-19, 32,752 deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 1,575 new cases* of COVID-19, and 38 new deaths**.

*Today's daily case count represents confirmed cases over two days (Thursday & Friday). The average number of new cases is 788 per day. 

**Deaths announced today includes 39 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. 

Today's daily number of deaths in one fewer than deaths identified during a Vital Records review because of corrections made to previously reported deaths. 

The state has had a total of 2,076,143 COVID-19 cases, 32,752 deaths, and 11,451,559 vaccine doses administered***. 

  • Berrien Co.: 30,546 confirmed cases, 507 deaths, 161,591 vaccine doses administered
  • Cass Co.: 9,230 cases, 130 deaths, 38,737 vaccine doses administered
  • St. Joseph Co.:  12,004 cases, 171 deaths, 51,895 vaccine doses administered
  • Van Buren Co.: 15,630 cases, 242 deaths, 84,809 vaccine doses administered

***Vaccines updated as of March 24, 2021

Note: The state of Michigan's website will no longer be updating the cumulative total of recovered COVID-19 cases. As of January 20, 2022, 1,421,905 people have recovered in the state.
