CASS COUNTY, Mich. – It has been confirmed that Lance Reeves pleaded no contest to charges stemming from the death of a 2-year-old girl in court on Monday.
It is unclear as to what specific charge Reeves pleaded no contest.
Lances Reeves was charged in December of 2018 for the death of 2-year-old Savannah Gardner who died in October of 2016. Those charges include one count of open murder, 2 counts of child abuse in the second degree and one count of child abuse in the third degree.
Reeves was dating the mother of the two year old at the time of the death.
Reeves is accused of breaking Gardner’s back and shaking her repeatedly.
An attorney for Reeves said that he is a veteran who suffers from PTSD.
Reeves will be sentenced on October 4.
