Michigan man claims Powerball jackpot

LaPEER, Mich. -- The man who purchased the winning Powerball ticket in Michigan finally came forward on Friday.

Donald Lawson of LaPeer claimed the third largest jackpot in Powerball history.

When Lawson bought the ticket, he says there was divine intervention.

"Something from above told me to go over there and pick my own numbers," Lawson said.

Lawson took the lump sum payout totaling $224.6 million.

The city of LaPeer gets one percent of that income tax.
