Michigan murder-for-hire defense team asks to be removed from case

GROSSE POINTE, Mich. -- There's a new twist to the murder-for-hire case near Detroit.

Bob Bashara's defense is asking to be removed from the case.

His attorney cites "an irreparable breakdown in the attorney in the client relationship."

Bashara is charged with trying to have his former handyman killed.

That handyman is charged with killing Bashara's wife.

An emergency hearing on the request is scheduled for Thursday.
