Michigan pharmacies facing issues with Hepatitis A outbreak

In a new health report, Michigan is looking for pharmacists that can help battle the Hepatitis A outbreak facing throughout the state.

Last week the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services sent out a letter to pharmacies throughout the state that outlined how the virus can be spread and what symptoms to look for.

The letter also reminded pharmacists that there are preventive services that can be given to Michiganders covered by Michigan Medicaid.

There has so far only been one case of Hepatitis A in Michiana so far this year, which was recorded in Van Buren County.
