Michigan phone cases protect your phone while helping charities

HUNTINGTON WOODS, MI – A Michigan-based company is creating phone cases with a cause.

"Because of a Case" was created by 34-year-old Jamie Strasberger and her husband with keeping others in mind. The company has a number of different designs for iPhones and Samsungs.

The company started out donating to just charities focused on mental health, but now donates to a wide range after customer requests.

Usually, 10 percent of each purchase is donated, and there are also a promotion done every so often, where Because of the Case has donated up to 95 percent of the profits.

In just its first year of business, it was able to donate more than $5,000 to charities.
