Michigan residents protest drone use

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. -- Drones have been a hot topic on a national scale and now they are stirring up protesters in Michigan.

The Battle Creek Air National Guard Base is home to part of a new drone program that would be remote controlled.

Those protesting say it’s important for the public to know what drones do and their public effect.

"It is making us less safe.  When we kill people in other countries it makes them very angry and we are and will continue to experience blow back," said Geoanne Lingle, protester.

The program is scheduled to start in a few years.
