Michigan Senate votes on sex offender bill

LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Senate voted to keep sex offenders from loitering within a thousand feet of child daycare centers.

Under the new bill, they would be allowed to be near one if they are dropping off their own child or meeting with an employee about their child.

Sex offenders are already banned from being near schools.

The bill still needs to be approved in the Michigan State House.
