Michigan Street renamed to Four Winds Invitational Drive
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Michigan Street in downtown South Bend is temporarily being renamed Four Winds Invitational Drive as of Monday.
This move is in preparation of the yearly Four Winds Invitational golf tournament, part of the Symetra Tour, which gives up and coming female golfers the competition needed to someday make it to the LPGA.
The tournament and the various fundraisers the tournament hosts have helped the South Bend community in a number of ways over the past decade.
“Well this is the tenth year the Four Winds Invitational has been going on in our community and it helps raise funds for a good cause and for the children in our community who are in need of help,” said South Bend Mayor James Mueller.
The first round of the tournament begins on Friday at the South Bend Country Club.
