Michigan woman celebrates 115th birthday

INKSTER, Mich. --- Jeralean Talley of Michigan is the oldest person in the U.S. She is the second oldest person in the world.

Talley was born in 1899 and celebrated her 115 birthday on Friday.

She shared the milestone with her family in the same home she's been living in since the 1960s.

Talley is still getting around, she walks with a walker and likes to take care of herself.

"A long time ago I asked the good Lord, I said when you get ready to take me home, please. I said, you know my will, all you got to do, use your will. I said I don't want to be sick or suffer for a long time. So far, I haven't suffered so much," Talley said.

The Gerontology Research Group says the oldest person in the world is a 116-year-old woman in Japan.
