Michigan woman's home blows up while she is on porch

MICHIGAN-- A 77-year-old woman was thrown 15 feet when her century-old home exploded in Eastern Michigan.

Her home in LaSalle Township is a total loss.

The explosion happened around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Nora Southwell said that she was standing on her front porch, when her home of nearly 44 years blew apart. Southwell landed flat on her back.

She said, "I was sailing, cause the paper man actually seen me sail through the air and, so, i don't know why my back isn't broke. i can't complain. I'm fine."

The Southwells said that they are planning to stay nearby, at their kids house, while cleaning up the homestead.

They are still considering whether to rebuild.
