The snow sticks around
FRANKLIN, Ind., --- The Mishawaka High School Wrestling team won the 3A state championship over the weekend.
The team got a big welcome home from the community Saturday night with a fire truck escort after they returned from Franklin for the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association Team State Duals, where the best teams in the state are invited to compete.
Mishawaka beat East Central 66-12 in the quarterfinals, then took down Greenfield Central 40-28 in the Semis, and in the championship match up defeated Columbus East 43-31.
The Cavemen and Coach Steve Sandefer are State champions for the first time since 2010.
Penn High School also finished 6th in Class 4A.
The Individual State Finals are February 17th and 18th at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
