Mishawaka man killed in accident on Cleveland Road

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. — A man died after he crashed into another car in St. Joseph County.
The St. Joe County Police Department and FACT team are investigating the fatal crash that happened at 10:45 p.m. on Friday night.
It happened at the intersection of Cleveland Road and Juniper Road. The driver, 40-year-old Christopher Perkins of Mishawaka was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses say he was speeding and lost control on the icy roadway, spun several times, then struck a mini-van.
The people in the van were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Alcohol, speed, and the icy roadway are all considered to be factors.
