Mishawaka PD top DUI task force in Indiana

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Mishawaka Police Department was honored for being the best in the state for catching drunk drivers.
The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute and Governor's Council gave Mishawaka PD a plaque for being the top DUI task force agency in the state.
The award also comes with $8,000 to purchase traffic safety equipment.
"You see a lot of comraderie here. They work together. Officers have a genuine concern to arrest drunk drivers. There has been a history here especially in Mishawaka with an officer being killed here by a drunk driver, that may motivate them a little bit more," said Lieutenant Tim Williams.
