MISHAWAKA Ind.--- Mishawaka Police and Fire Departments held a special parade for a child's birthday. The two departments drove down Harrison Street in Mishawaka to celebrate the birthday boy.
Like most children his age, six year old Brantley Perkins expected to spend his birthday surrounded by his classmates. However, because of social distancing guidelines and schools being closed, his family decided to think quickly to have a special day for him.
Perkins' family reached out to Mishawaka Police and Fire to do a mini parade for Brantley. This was the third parade Mishawaka Police has held in the past week.
Brantley's family and friends waved as the first responders drove by with sirens on. Mishawaka Police say they will try and grant birthday parade wishes but they may not be able to accommodate every request.
