Mishawaka Police asking for tips in shooting on w. Battell

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Mishawaka Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened last Thursday on W. Battell Street.

Police were called to the 500 block of W. Battell Street around 9:30 p.m. to investigate a shooting.

When police arrived, they located a man who had been shot in the groin.

He was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury, police said.

The victim told police he was getting out of his car when two men approached him and demanded money.

They got into an altercation and the victim was shot by one of the suspects.

The suspects fled before police arrived.
