Mishawaka put an end to Northridge's season, winning 23-10

ELKHART, Ind. -- Both teams met each other again in an anticipated rematch. Last time Mishawaka walked away with the victory, and tonight proved to be no different.

Both teams started off strong as the fight for sectionals now officially begin.

Early in the first quarter, Northridge putting points on the board with a 3-point field goal thanks to junior kicker Owen Kaehr, giving the Raiders an early lead.

Mishawaka would quickly answer as the Cavemen found their rhythm. Senior Jackson Synder had the quick handoff, charging to his left and found himself in the endzone, giving the Cavemen 7-3 lead with the extra point.

Towards the end of the first half, Mishawka breaking through Northridge's defense, pushing through traffic for their second touchdown of the game. With the extra point, they headed into halftime 14-3.

Mishawaka's offense found the end zone one last time with 5:25 remaining in the fourth quarter. Northridge managed to respond with a touchdown of their own, but it came too late as the Cavemen put an end to the Raiders' season walking away with the 23-10 victory.

"We won, so we get to play another week. It didn't start great, a little hairy for the first quarter but our kids settled in, and our defense played very well," Mishawaka Head Coach Keith Kinder said.

Mishawaka advances to the next round of sectionals and will face off against the winner of the Wawasee Plymouth game.
