FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Moms Demand Action, a group that advocates for gun safety laws, held demonstrations across the nation on Saturday – a day in which South Bend saw a second shooting in less than 24 hours.
There was a shooting 3:30 a.m. on Saturday at Miami Hills Apartments, and another shooting occurred at a Teachers Credit Union on Friday at around 12:00 p.m.
Police have yet to name a suspect in the shooting at Miami Hills Apartments.
Members of Moms Demand Action gathered in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis urging lawmakers to pass gun safety legislation in the wake of recent mass shootings and a rise in gun violence.
