MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Mishawaka Utilities is currently working to restore power around the Edison Lakes area.

Reports of outages started to come in late Tuesday morning and were impacting businesses near Edison Lakes and on Grape Road.

Officials say they had some wiring fail and that it's possibly heat related, but they are still monitoring the situation.

"Power went out at Grape and Edison Lakes Parkway. Wire burned up in the underground pit," a City of Mishawaka spokesperson said.

"Power restored after fix and restoration work in the underground utility pit and the power was restored to all but two consumers in the Grape Road/ Edison Lakes Parkway area within 30 minutes."

As of 1 p.m.,  all but two customers ae back up and officials say the remaining two will be back up soon.
