Morris Performing Arts Center to celebrates its 100 year anniversary in a big way
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Morris Performing Arts Center is celebrating their 100-year anniversary in a big way with a week-long festival in the streets of downtown South Bend on Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1.
The free event will celebrate 100 years of the Morris Performing Arts Center and the completion of interior renovations in phase one of the Morris 100 Capital Campaign project.
The Celebration will host an entire block filled with three stages with a lineup of local and regional performers, Ferris wheel, games and activities, food trucks, street performers, fireworks and more.
Different artists such as the Barenaked Ladies, The Bergamot, Smash Kings, the 1985 and more will be performing at the event.
There will be a giant 6-foot-tall birthday card displayed for community members to paint and sign on Friday for the Morris' 100th birthday. The Final piece will remain on display throughout the Morris 100 Fest on Saturday and throughout the rest of the year inside the Morris Lobby.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own camp style lawn chairs and/or blankets for the event.
Gates open on Friday at 5 p.m., and on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
