Mother Nature wont stop Silver Hawks celebration

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Silver Hawks will take on the Fort Wayne Tin Caps Tuesday night. It will be a night full of Independence Day pride.

"You got the patriotic music playing, the team is going to be wearing a special red, white, and blue tops today and tomorrow. And again we just wanted to get into the spirit and celebrate everything and have a great time at the ballpark,” said Joe Hart, President of the Silver Hawks.

What makes Tuesday night’s game extra special will come after the ninth inning. They will have Fourth of July holiday edition fireworks.

Hart says nothing that Mother Nature can dish out will change his plans.

"Anything you can do for the July 4th celebration, it's a big thing. People plan. This is a nice night out. We are going to do anything we can to make sure we get the fireworks in,” said Hart.

Fireworks specialists started setting them up early Tuesday afternoon.

Tickets for Wednesday night’s game are almost sold out.
