Motions to dismiss charges denied in Terry Sturgis murder trial

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A judge denied a motion to drop neglect charges in the Terry Sturgis abuse case.
The South Bend father appeared in court on Thursday afternoon.
He is accused of beating his 10-year-old son, Tramelle, to death last November.
He pleaded 'not guilty'.
Sturgis is expected back in court on May 1 for a status hearing.
His trial is set to begin May 14.
