Motorcyclist killed in crash on CR 27

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger was injured in a crash on CR 27 Wednesday afternoon, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to CR 27 near CR 20 at 4:45 p.m. to investigate the crash.
Deputies say a Ford F150 was in a private driveway and attempted to make a left turn onto CR 27. The motorcyclist was traveling north on CR 27 and struck the front driver's side of the Ford F150.
The driver and passenger in the truck were not injured.
The driver of the motorcycle, Jacob Smith, died at the scene.
His passenger was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
