Multiple agencies respond to early morning house fire

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety reports they along with their automatic aid partners, Benton Charter Township Fire Department, St. Joseph Department of Public Safety, and Lincoln Charter Township Firefighters, responded to a working fire at Broadway and Clay Street around 1:05 a.m. Monday.
The report states units arrived to find fire showing from a two-story house.
Fire officials say there was heavy fire throughout the structure due to numerous void spaces allowing fire to travel before fire crews' arrival.
Officials say St. Joseph Charter Township Fire Department Station #2 was also called for additional help.
A Medic 1 Ambulance, the Berrien County Sheriff's Office, and Benton Township Police Department also assisted.
Fire officials say there were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation but appears to be accidental.
