Multiple brands of cookie dough ice cream recalled

Several brands of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream have been recalled because they could be contaminated with listeria.

The recalls affect products made with cookie dough supplied by Aspen Hills, Inc. The brands affected include Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream, Nutrisystem, Blue Bell, Blue Bunny, and Publix.

BLUE BELL PRODUCTS

The Blue Bell recall includes products produced from February 2 through September 7 of this year.

Half gallons and pints sold at retail outlets

  • Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
  • Blue Bell Cookie Two Step

3 gallon cartons sold to food service locations include:

  • Blue Bell Blue Monster
  • Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie
  • Blue Bell Krazy Kookie Dough

The consumer and food service products produced with the cookie dough pieces were distributed in the following states Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream in 3 gallon cartons and pints are affected by the recall. The products were distributed to ice cream shops, online outlets and grocery stores in the following states: AL, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OH, OK, PA, SC, TX, WA, WI & WV.

BLUE BUNNY PRODUCTS

The Blue Bunny product affected by this recall includes the Blue Bunny Hoppin’ Holidoodle Ice Cream. It is a seasonal product with limited distribution in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arizona and Texas. The UPC and Best By dates include:

  • UPC 070640014644, LOT 60001 MM 19115 6228, BEST IF USED BY 02/13/18
  • UPC 070640014651, LOT 60001 MM 19115 6229, BEST IF USED BY 02/14/18

NUTRISYSTEM BARS
In addition to ice cream, Nutrisystem is recalling its Nutricrush Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar because it could contain cookie dough contaminated with Listeria.

The product had very limited distribution of 1 lot/455 cases to ShopRite and Hannaford stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, and online through Amazon.com and Walmart.com.

This voluntary recall covers the Nutrisystem Nutricrush Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar. The bar was sold as a 5-count carton. The product can be identified by the UPC 6 32674 85579 4, Enjoy by Aug 22 2017 and Lot Code NF082216A.

PUBLIX ICE CREAM
Publix is recalling Publix brand Chocolate Cookie Dough Ice Cream as a result of the cookie dough supplied by a third party that could be contaminated with listeria.

The ice cream was sold at Publix stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina with a UPC of 000-41415-03843, and a sell by date of May 27 2017, which is printed on the bottom of the half gallon container.
