NEW CARLISLE, Ind. -- The New Carlisle Fire Department reports units were dispatched to a residential structure fire Tuesday morning.

Fire officials say crews arrived on scene and contained the fire, saving the home.

The report states due to the rural location, Saint Joseph County Fire Territory, Kankakee Township Fire Department, Galien Township Fire Department, Bertrand Fire Department and Three Oaks Fire Department all assisted.

Prior to fire crews' arrival, all residents and their animals safely exited the house.
