Multiple shootings reported in River Park neighborhood
South Bend Police responded to multiple reported shootings over the holiday weekend in the River Park neighborhood.
According to Captain Robert Hammer of the South Bend Police Department, police received a call of a shooting Saturday around 6:00 p.m. in the 700 block of 26th Street.
Upon arrival, police say they spoke to multiple witnesses who saw a subject fire shots and leave the scene in a vehicle.
No one was injured, but a vehicle parked on the street was damaged by gunfire.
Police also responded to a call of shots fired Sunday near the intersection of South 28th Street and East Jefferson Boulevard but no evidence of a shooting was found.
The third call for shots fired came in around 6:00 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of 26th Street, near the intersection of 26th and Hastings Street.
Police say they found one shell casing which was taken in as evidence.
No one was reportedly injured in any of the shootings and police have not released the names or descriptions of any possible suspects at this time.
