NAACP proposes rally after young man shot by police in Michigan City

LAPORTE CO., Ind. -- The NAACP is getting involved in the shooting of a young man in LaPorte County.

Daniel Sherrod was shot on June 20 by officers as he took off during a traffic stop.

Officers also said he went after a deputy's gun.

The group met in Michigan City, proposing a possible rally, to make sure the Michigan City Police Department is not using racial profiling to pull over certain individuals, among other things.

ABC 57's Judi Lykowski reports.
