ND barely escapes Pittsburgh in triple OT

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Notre Dame barely escaped Pittsburgh Panthers on Saturday and needed three overtimes to remain undefeated.

It was a game that was closer than anyone expected.

With just minutes to spare, Notre Dame scored a touchdown to tie the game up.

Both teams went field goal to field goal in the first overtime making it 23-23.

The Irish fumbled the ball and Pittsburgh missed a field goal forcing a third overtime.

The Panthers finally connected for a third goal. And the Irish marched on down the field to close the game with a victory 29-26.

And while the Irish remain undefeated, they could drop in the BCS.
