Neighbors take action against west side blight

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- On Wednesday, a local community prepared to fight back against fires, abandoned buildings, and the crime they say is plaguing their neighborhood!

Neighbors have set up a community meeting to deal with the escalating problems around Olive Street and South Bend's west side.

In three months, there have been a number of house fires in vacant buildings and at least two shootings -- one of them deadly.

The meeting will be held next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
