Nelson Mandela on dialysis for kidney failure

Nelson Mandela is on life support and going through dialysis treatment to treat kidney failure.

Officials say the former South African leader is not in a vegetative state and that he is responding and opening his eyes when spoken to.

Mandela has been hospitalized for the past month with a recurring lung infection.
