New dive boat helps Kosciusko police save a life

KOSCIUSKO CO., Ind. -- Kosciusko police were able to rescue a man from death, thanks in part to their new dive boat.

Deputies responded to a gravel pit in Leesburg on Sunday night. That's where they found a 40-year-old man, face down at the edge of the water.

An ambulance rushed him to the hospital for treatment after an overdose.

Sheriffs said they wouldn't have found him in time without the thermal imaging equipment on board.

They recently bought the boat using donations from a local family who lost a loved on during a fishing trip last August.
