LA PORTE, Ind.—A new frozen yogurt shop is coming to downtown La Porte.

Downtown Delights is set to open the week of July 12 at 702 Lincolnway, according to one of its business managers, Courtney Dickman.

The shop will offer a variety of frozen yogurts and smoothies, including vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and low sugar options.

Customers will be able to select between about 12 flavor options, including cake batter, cookies and cream, vanilla, strawberry, New York cheesecake and more.

Toppings will include fruit, candy bars, sprinkles, hot fudge and caramel, just to name a few.

The historic building that will soon house the frozen yogurt shop was built in the 1860s and is just steps away from the city’s Plaza 618, which features a splash pad, outdoor seating and parking.

The shop will have both indoor seating and outdoor seating available.

Dickman said the shop will post polls on their social media accounts to let customers have a say in some of the flavors that are offered.

Dickman, along with business partners Michelle Dickman and Mary Tagler, are opening the shop to offer a “healthier alternative and allergenic safe option to the dessert life.”

The owners also hope to create weekly discounts for different groups such as state workers, health care employees and hometown heroes.
