New Indiana Michigan Power facility coming to South Bend
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Indiana Michigan Power announced their plans to begin building a 115,000 square foot facility in South Bend in December.
I&M received approval from the South Bend Common Council on Monday to build this new facility near US 31 and Adams Road.
“Indiana Michigan Power is excited and thankful for the South Bend Common Council’s support to expand and move into the northwest part of South Bend as it experiences economic development and residential growth. The location will enable our employees and crews to respond faster and better serve our customers and businesses across the South Bend area safely and efficiently for decades to come,” said Dave Isaacson, Vice President of Distribution Region Operations for I&M.
This new location will be utilized as a service center and a storage facility for I&M.
Over 100 people will be employed for positions including service representatives, line workers, meter operations and more.
I&M estimates that construction for this new facility will begin in December and will be finished sometime in the Spring of 2023.
