New Jersey parents upset with dance dress code

READINGTON, N.J. — A dress code for a New Jersey middle school dance has some parents upset.

The school in Readington, New Jersey recently banned strapless dresses for an eighth grade dance.

The principal apparently told one parent the dresses distract boys.

Parents packed a school board meeting and gave the superintendent an earful over the issue.

"That they're not responsible for behavior and the clothing dictates what their behavior and I don't think that it does," said Charlotte Nijenhuis.

In the end, board members agreed they will go over the dress code and consider students and parents opinions when they make a final decision.
