New Orleans teacher's body possibly found

NEW ORLEANS — The body believed to be that of a missing New Orleans teacher has been found. Her car was found submerged in a Louisiana bayou.

The body was found in the driver's seat.

The 26-year-old has been missing since March. She was last seen leaving a popular bar in the area.

Saturday morning family and friends struggled to describe the end to the past few months.

"We were out here and they searched these waters the first week," said family friend Demetria Isidore. "It's a relief. We promised that we would never give up on her and we stuck by that promise."

The car was towed to the coroner's office for an autopsy to identify the body. Those results could take weeks.
