Newly remodeled Crawford Park re-opening in Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - Mishawaka Parks and Rec Department announced the grand re-opening of the newly remodeled Crawford Park.

Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood will be at the ceremony to celebrate with the community.

The re-opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony is taking place on Thursday, May 23, at 11 a.m., at 445 N Niles Ave. in Mishawaka. Free Kona Ice will be available.

The park has been thematically remodeled to a “Nature Park”, which includes man-made wetlands.

It will also feature an active play area for children and a neighborhood lawn area for open play and special events.

City officials say a new restroom building and three new picnic shelters/pavilions will be featured as well as a new small off-street parking lot.

The wetlands will separate the walkway from the new play area and children's splash pad.

Officials add that the play area will feature inclusive components for children of all abilities.

Sixth graders from Beiger Elementary will also be in attendance for the Crawford Park ribbon cutting.
