Benton Township Police Department arrests teens following shooting on Sept. 5
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- On Sept. 5, the Benton Township Police Department was sent to Corewell Health regarding a report of a gunshot victim.
After investigation with witnesses and the victim, it was found that the shooting occurred on Council Drive at the Berrien Homes housing complex.
The victim shot was treated for his injuries and was released from the hospital later that night.
As the investigation continued, two teen suspects were identified and arrested the next day on Sept 6.
The suspects were both male: a 13-year-old from Benton Harbor, and a 16-year-old from Berrien Springs. Both are being held in custody at the Berrien County Juvenile Center. The names of the teens will not be disclosed due to their ages.
